In all honesty, much better than we had expected! We've stayed in all categories of hotels-5-star and lower. This one is one of the best-based upon a balanced cost performance view. Located in a somewhat rustic jungle like setting. Majestic view of the Philippine sea/rock islands(from bungalow 4). Unbeatable sunset! Mike, Carmen, Nelson (he's a great singer), Maika, Robert, and everyone else (including the occasional balcony gecko) made our trip a true pleasure-never to be forgotten. When we had a request, it was taken care of without exception. Breakfast on the balcony was a huge plus. Access to PPR (Club-Med style resort) is a huge bonus; however, in my opinion they are an overpriced resort. I could go on and on, but rather I recommend you check out other comments from other visitors at tripadvisor.com about this splendid, special resort.

Our bungalow was just as advertised -- a beautifully crafted wood building that
recalled a traditional Palauan meeting-house but included all modern conveniences.
Each evening we pre-ordered breakfast, and each morning their charming and efficient
staff served us on our private balcony while we enjoyed a spectacular view of
the Philippine Sea and Rock Islands. Guest privileges at the nearby Palau Pacific
Resort allowed us to enjoy the beautiful beach at no extra cost.

We are now back in Germany from our wonderful vacation. Itís only been five weeks
but we already miss the nature, the landscape and the lovely people in Palau.
It was so amazing, it's like a wonderful paradise there. Zenie and her staff
were always there to help, and made our trip filled with happiness. Everyone
at the Carolines Resort are so helpful and kind, we think it's the best place
to stay when visiting Palau.

told Zenie that it was a special trip for us, being one week before our wedding.
When we arrived in our Bungalow #8, there was a wonderful wedding cake!!! What
a lovely surprise!! The staff is fantastic, very helpful and always smiling.
The location is to die for. This is a real piece of PARADISE!!! We will definitely
stay at the Carolines Resort when we come back to Palau.!!

Now we are back again in our country Switzerland, but in our thought we are still
in Palau. Above all we liked your lovely resort with the friendly staff and the
perfect organised shuttle service. We did also find the combination with the
Palau Pacific Resort very pleasant: to stay in a room with a marvelous view and
enjoy the beach at the PPR, even if we was the most time on diving with Sam's
Tours, we mean the best diving center in Palau. So we hope the come back again
as soon as possible.

Palau was amazing and our stay at the Carolines Resort most memorable! Fantastic
views from our comfortable bungalow (#4), lovely breakfast on our balcony and
the impeccable service from everyone at the Resort combined to make our stay
wonderful. A great big thank you to Zenie who has to be the most gracious hostess
I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry - she went above and beyond
to make sure we had a great time in Palau.

Hi again Zenie, We are now back home after spending a lovely few days in Hawaii
(though we preferred Palau !!!). I've tried 3 times to add a report in your Guest
Book but it tells me that the security code is not recognised though I'm sure
I'm typing the correct one. I don't know if you can add it direct ?? This is
what I wanted to say: "We've just got back from our holiday to Palau and wanted
to back up what everybody has said about Zenie and the resort. We had such a
lovely time staying there. We truly enjoyed our breakfast on the balcony (one
of our fav moments of the day) and Zenie could not have been more helpful. She
was so thoughtful and saved us so much money by advising us to book tours early
before the prices went up. The Carolines was far more intimate than the Pacific
Palau Resort and since you can access all of PPR's facilities free of charge
by staying at Carolines anyway, you get the best of both worlds and much better
value for money. Hey! :) We miss Palau terribly. Everybody was sooo welcoming
and it's one of THE most beautiful places I have ever seen (and I've visited
52 countries by now). My friends back home who saw my pictures were speechless
- they had no idea such an awe-inspiring place *really* existed. You will love
staying at Carolines, it really felt like being 'at home' right from the start.
Thanks again Zenie for ALL you did for us, we appreciate it more than words can
say. Take good care.
We miss you ! Sylvie & Roberto". Lots of Love and we DO miss you ! :))) Sylvie

I absolutely loved staying here. The service was friendly and helpful and the
staff was welcoming. Our bungalow (#7) was cozy and the view was absolutely gorgeous.
If you're a fan of birds and bird watching, there was an endless parade of species

Thanks to all at the Carolines Resort and I hope to be back soon!

The Carolines is the only place to stay while in Koror! Not only are Zenie and
her staff fantastic, but the connections that they have with other businesses
are first rate as well. My husband and I stayed six nights at the Carolines for
our honeymoon and loved the whole experience. Zenie and Michael were always available
to help coordinate dive tours, rental cars, airline reservations and travel to
Peleliu and Carp Islands. Breakfasts are amazing and served promptly on your
balcony. And the sunset view from there is unbeatable as well. The hospitality
of the staff is truly a high point of this operation - and they know all the
great place to eat that are not in your Lonely Planet guidebook. Thank you everyone,
especially Manang Zenie, for a wonderful vacation!! We miss Palau!! Aloha,

We would like to add our hearty endorsements to all the positive comments about

My husband and I returned to Palau for the third time in September and stayed
at The Carolines for the second time. We enjoy the resort so much we would not
consider ever staying anywhere else. Zenie and her staff are the BEST!!! Zenie,
thank you again for a wonderful stay and we'll see you next year!

We stayed at the Carolines for our honeymoon in July. We had the best time and
absolutely loved the hotel. Zenie picked us up at the airport and set up our
whole schedule including diving, kayaking, snorkeling, renting a car... everything.
The service was amazing. Zenie and her staff served us breakfast every morning
on our terrace and took care of everything else we needed. After seeing all the
other hotels on the island, we were sure we made the best choice. To have the
beautiful view and feel like you're part of nature... were definite pluses. Plus,
you have access to the Palau Pacific... but still get the feeling of being tucked
away at the Carolines. The view, the service, the bungalow... all made for an
amazing stay. Thank you Zenie!

It has been our first time in Palau and we must say that it is a real paradise!
Caroline is the perfect place were to rest and relax after a day full of activities,

gentle and available that it is impossible to commence a new day without a smile.

For our first visit to Palau we were looking a nice and quite accommodation and
we were totally satisfied with Carolines Resort. Our wooden bungalow was very
nice and spacious with a great view on the sea. It was lovely to have our breakfast
on the veranda looking at the ocean! Zenie, the manager, was incredibly kind
and helpful and she helped us to organize any kind of activity during our stay.
Palau is simply wonderful and Carolines was the perfect place to enjoy the island.
Many thanks!

Last May, me and my husband visited Palau for the first time and we will absolutely
visit it again. It's like paradise, the underwater world is fenominal and also
the scenery is like magic. Caroline's Resort makes you visit complete. The people
who work there are most friendly and the cabins are beautiful with an amazing
view. We travelled around the world for three months, but our visit at Palau
and Caroline's was the best!

My husband and I spent 5 glorious days at Carolines in early September. This
was our second time to Palau, the first being on a live aboard. This time we
wanted to experience a land based vacation and we were not disappointed. When
looking to book our accomodations we came across The Carolines and thought is
looked perfect - and it was. The Carolines is magical. It's everything described
on the website and more. I highly recomend to anyone to stay at the Carolines.

This August (2007) me and my girlfriend went to Palau. We had already been two
weeks in the Philippines, so going to Palau was kind of spontaneous. Luckily
we found Carolines. The resort definitely has a more native feel than the other
resorts nearby, with their fantastic cottages located perfectly on the hillside.
The crew (Jimmy, Nelson and in particular Shanie) treated us like royalty. Their
easy going made us feel very much welcome. Even though the resort doesn't have
its own beach or pool, the short walk is not a problem. Compared to other resorts
on the islands, you really get your money worth. Our one week at the resort was
amazing and we would love to come back one day. Thank you!

Carolines was everything we had hoped for and more. We were there 10 days in
May and after talking with several other people who stayed in Palau at other
places, we knew we had made the right choice with Carolines. Even those who stayed
at the large fancy resorts envied us--some had tried to book at Carolines but
they were full at the time. Every morning we had breakfast delivered to our room
and enjoyed it on our open porch looking out over the ocean. Delicious, hot and
the plate was a banana leaf. For dinner the driver was always available to take
us into town and pick us up again--no problems there. Our room was the best!
#8 at the top, a little further to walk but well worth it. The pictures of the
room here on the web site don't really do it justice--mahogony throughout and
very spacious. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carolines to anyone, just email
us for more info--glad to share our pleasant experiences and make recommendations
on what to do, where to eat, etc in Palau. (Necco is the best for diving! Best
boats, best lunches, best service.)

Carolines is a wonderful place. My girlfriend and I stayed for 8 nights over
New Years. Everything was perfect - the bungalows are well-built and well-maintained,
the views are the best in Palau, free access to the beach/facilities at PPR nice

great way to start and end the day, and, most of all, Zenie and the staff at
Carolines were amazing. Thanks Zenie - we wish we were still there!

Greetings from Texas to all at Carolines Bit of Heaven, My wife Mary and I treated
ourselves to the best of Xmas gifts with one week each in Palau and Yap and have
never been more welcome, better treated, or enjoyed a stay more. Our first trip
to the far Pacific began with a welcome sign at the Palau Airport, a lei, and
a smile that set the tone for our stay. The lodging was beautiful, the service
was excellent, and, I must admit, breakfast on the patio of our cabin was a treat
I could get very very used to. Carolines is not a big resort but a small location
with a big heart, great access to Pacific Palau Resort's beach and snorkeling,
and a sincere commitment to make sure all of a travelers needs are met, if not
exceeded. I would (I will) definitely go back again to the Carolines

Aloha to Zenie and all the beautiful staff at the Carolines! I had an amazing
time in Palau and it was especially enhanced by staying in this quiet and peaceful
place. The room had a special warmth with gorgeous views of the water and hillside.
And after a day of exploring it was always soothing to know I was returning to

I would definitely recommend this resort, as it is small and quiet with loving
hosts! Aloha from O'ahu!!! Thank you!!!!

during my stay in Belau. Your assistance was appreciated when I had my medical
problems. It was nice to have some friendly faces who were concerned about my

and ready to handle requests for nextday plans. The breakfasts were great and
a good way to start the day. Being able to visit the Palau Pacific Resort (PPR)

in paradise. We certainly enjoyed our bungalow with the magnificent views and
sunsets. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to unwind and relax
after planning a wedding. Thank you so much for all your gracious hospitality.
It was greatly appreciated!! We can't wait to come back and spend more time in
Palau...especially at the Carolines. :) Maybe for our 5th anniversary. Thanks
again for eveything!

Dear Zenie. First
of all, we wish you and your staff a very happy new year. Secondly, thank you
for your hospitality during our honeymoon in Palau last December. We've only
just returned home, and I can tell you that a picture of the sunset as viewed
from the balcony of bungalow no. 3 is now a wallpaper for my computer screen.
We had a wonderful time in Palau. Next time we'll schedule the Jellyfish Lake
first thing, because we missed that due to the airline changing our flight. Thanks
again Zenie for calling them timely and saving us a lot of hassle. All the best

I went to the Carolines
Resort this past summer. Although the flight came in late, neverless there was
someone waiting for us to get our bags. To top that off they had fresh lays for
us to wear. I felt like royality! They set us up with our room and mafe us feel
like we were at home. In the morning, right on time came our breakfast. It was
steaming hot, and the women who delivered it to us were as kind as could be and
cometed on how beautiful i was. Went it was time for us to go SCUBA diving the
van was right on time and our adevture began. The water was so clear you didn't
know when you couldn't see! TONS OF FISH, TONS OF SHARKS(no worries they don't
bother you) and the guides are relaxed and laidback. Once we got back the staff
was ready to do anything for our dinne. we didn't feel like leaving so the order
a pizza for us. They staff at this Resort is ready to make you stay at Palau
was wonderful as possible. Anything you need they already have it for you. I
would like to thank everyone there for making me feel at home when i was so far
away from my real home. I can't wait to come back.

you to the Carolines resort on our recent Dive trip! We loved the luxury of the
rooms and the fantastic position of "the little resort on top of the hill".
All the locals we talked to confirmed that you are the best place to stay! It
was truely a luxery to come home to air-conditioned rooms and hot showers. The
mini-bars also got a bit of a work out. You certainly contributed to the enjoyment

I love this website,
I haven't been back home since 1992 and I can see how much has changed since
I've been gone. Your website doesn't just attract foreigners and tourist it attracts
fellow Palauans that haven't been back home in ages. Your site makes me want
to fly down immediately,I wish you and yours a very prosperous future and best
wishes in your future endeavors. Add photos of guests and tourist that wouldn't
mind having their pictures online along side their comments on their adventure
at Carolines and Palau, that should bring more attraction to carolines if guests
that visit the website can have a visual on people that came and left with happy
memories. All the best!

NEVER say enough! The Caroline's and Palau was an ultimate vacation for us. We
thought it would the the trip of a lifetime. Not so, we want to go back and always
do when we visit this site and watch slides from our trip. We thought if we could
bottle the sounds we heard at night it would help. We miss the sounds, the smells,
the people, the sites, the quiet...you name it, we miss it, want to go back,
never forget it, can't stop talking about it...fall in love with each other all

the best place on the island and the bungalows have a great view ABOVE the PPR.
It's by far the best place to stay in Palau. Also a special note to traveler's,
Koror has ALL the conveniences you can find in the USA like fully stocked grocery

you might not find them on such a remote island. Enjoy your next trip to Palau!!!

Greetings from Seattle!
We arrived early yesterday morning (May 31st) after a long trip from Yap. The
weather in Seattle today is beautiful--we have sunshine and about 70 degrees
farenheit. The lake looks wonderful today but not as lovely as the view of the
Rock Islands from our balcony at The Carolines Resort. Thank you to Zenie and
her staff for making our stay at The Carolines so special. We enjoyed ourselves
very much and appreciated every little detail that Zenie and her staff did to
make our stay so special. The bungalows were spotless and meals always arrived
on time. Though the setting was lovely, what made The Carolines so extraordinary
is Zenie and her staff and their gracious hospitality. Thanks Zenie and the staff

Hello all. We just
returned from Palau. We spent 7 nights at Carolines from 23 January to 30 January
2002. This was the most relaxing and romantic place that we have EVER stayed.
The bungalow was absolutely superb.. we loved the hand-carved details. The view
from our balcony was breathtaking both at night and day. Having breakfast brought
to us and served on our balcony each morning really started the day off perfect.
The food was excellent and filling. The staff was GREAT!! From the managers all
the way down to the grounds keepers.. everyone was always friendly and went out
of their way to speak to us as if they knew us. Every request was met with no
hesitation. Zenie the manager was sweet even to the point of a goodbye hug. The
night clerk (sorry I never got your name) was always helpful in arranging transportation.
Nelson, our driver, was always prompt and super courteous. Carmen, who to our
eyes did several jobs, was sweet and helpful. Thanks to all of you for making
our vacation perfect!! If anyone is planning a trip to Palua and would like more
information or pictures, please email us. If this is anyone's first trip to Palua..
stay at Carolines. It will definately add to your experience in Palau.

We visted Palau
and the Carolines Resort for our honeymoon in October. Zenie and her attentive
staff never ceased to do everything they could to make our stay in Palau perfect.
We stayed at the one of the largest resorts on Palau (the Palau Pacific Resort)
before moving over to the Carolines. We found that the friendly staff made all
the differance. They not only did they make us feel at home, but they went out
of their way to arrange our boat rides, hikes, dives, and restaurants, and even
provided the transportation! What could could be better than a postcard perfect
sunset on the deck of your own bungalow, drink in hand, after a day of diving
and before a romantic night out. What an unbelievable place to stay. Thank you

The Carolines is
a gem. Definitely the most romantic place to stay in Palau, but can be a little
lonely if you're by yourself. The secluded bungalows have amazing views and are
nicely furnished. Overall the accomodations are "elegantly rustic" --
if you're going to be worried about finding a gecko in your room, or have a hard
time with low water pressure, you might want one of the more commercial hotels,
but if you're into quiet evenings, beautiful sunsets, privacy, and friendly helpful
service, this is the ONLY place to stay in Palau.

The Carolines is
an excellent choice for a quiet location but without being isolated. There is
an excellent drop off and pick up service which means you can be where you want
to be quickly. The people are friendly and cannot do enough to make the stay
relaxing and care free. The views from the balcony are superb. In sum, a quiet,
relaxing and private location but with quick drop off and pick ups so you can
go where and when you want. Excellent service and best of all excellent people
to help with any issue. We are going back next year. Any questions, please feel

overlooking the Rock Islands and Phillipine Sea! We also enjoyed some breathtaking
sunsets! The staff at the Carolines were so accommodating and hospitable. They
really made us feel welcome and had some great suggestions of things to experience
in Palau. Jimmy was always available to take us places and Zenie was so friendly
and knowledgable. Palau is a very memorable place and will always have a special
place in our hearts. The food was outstanding, the diving - fantastic and the
people are so nice! We can't say enough good things about Palau and want to come
back to see you soon! Hope you all are well!

Palau is a Paradise!
I can't wait to go back. I had the pleasure of staying at the Carolines Resort
and it was everything I expected. The view from the bungalow was breathtaking!
I loved having breakfast on the balcony every morning. The fruits were delicious
and your prices very reasonable. The rooms were spacious and cozy, and the VCR
in the room was an unexpected surprise. It made us feel really "at home".
The staff were very hospitable and warm. Special thanks to Jimmy for all his
efforts in making our stay comfortable. Zenie, thanks for setting up the Rock
Island tour. A tour every visitor to Palau should take! The experience will stay
with you forever. And to the rest, thanks for taking the time to take us to the
various delicious restaurants and shops. Definitely a nice change from the usual "Resort
Hotel" stay!

We visited Palau
in May of this year and it is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been.
Our experience at the Carolines was wonderful and the staff was so very friendly
and accomodating. Sam's Tours offered us some of the most memorable diving and
kayaking ever. We truly enjoyed our visit and have recommended both Carolines
Resort and Palau to all adventurers like us!

My boyfriend and
I discoverd Palau and all its wonders on the A&E channel as well.
Shortly after we booked our tickets for a week long adventure. We stayed at the
Carolines resort which came highly recommended by a number of people and from
our experience with good reason. The private bungalows are a perfect place to
relax after a long day of scuba diving. The view is just beautiful. Each and
every person that we met was extremely nice and were willing to do what ever
they could to make our stay a pleasant one....We had a great time. Thanks!

My dream is to return
one day to Koror--where I was born in 1949 and left when I was less than 1 year
old. My father was in the US Navy. I have many wonderful artifacts given to me
by the locals, shell money, story boards, statues of gods, a wonderful wooden
monkey lamp and monkey statues, and paintings done local artists. My parents
loved the people and culture and have shared many wonderful memories with me.
I hope to have my own memories when my dream comes true to return to Palau.

There is no better sunrise or sunset view on the island than from the bungalows

Enjoyed you website,
especially because I lived in Palau from 1964 to 1968--in Melekeok and later
in Koror. Tried all your website segments but had no success in finding a map
showing where you are located on Koror. A site map would be a good addition.
Ever thought about it? Or maybe it's there and I just couldn't find it. Look
forward to coming down for a vist. The pictures look like your resort is located
somewhere near the old "Topside." Love the look of the bungalows.

our honeymoon at the Carolines!! Laura and Zenie are most excellent hosts, and
Jimmy was awesome. We both travel quite a bit, and we have never seen the level
of service and hospitality offered by the Carolines, even at some high-end hotels

and islands that define "tropical paradise," and you have the makings
of the best holiday you will ever have. Thanks for everything, Carolines!
