Palau has been
referred to by many who have visited us to be the 8th wonder
of the world. We've also been called a divers paradise and a honeymooner's
dream come true. We are definitely all of these things but
to
those who live here we are home and we all join together to
welcome you.
Palau is made
up of a chain of several islands. The Northern most island
is Kayangel and the Southern most is Sonorol or the Southwest
Islands. There are approximately 200 islands, most are uninhabited.
Our
total population is over 20,000. The capital, Koror is the
most
highly populated area of Palau, this is where you'll find most
our stores and restaurants, and is currently our business center.
The
official language of Palau is English and Palauan, the currency
is the US dollar.
Electricity is the same as in the US (Single phase 60 cycles,
115/230 volts AC) and postage is the same as in the US.
